Spring Garden Collection

The Friends were one of the first groups to organise Open Gardens and over the years it has provided a very useful means of raising funds, although, inevitably, competition has been stronger in recent years as other villages have adopted the same format. This year we decided to plan our event around spring and have 5 gardens near the church open. Additional attractions included a chance to tour Topcliffe Mill, try your hand at bell ringing, plus cream teas.

Although we were unlucky with the weather, a good number of people supported the event, with the teas offering an excellent refuge from the rain! As well as the gardens, with a quiz as you went round, the Topcliffe Mill tour was very interesting, as was the barrel organ in the church.
