The wine tasting sponsored by Waitrose of Trumpington proved to be a very successful event with all tickets sold in advance. Stuart Finley, the branch manager, provided a very entertaining and informative tasting with four white and four red wines followed by a pudding wine. There was also a fairly serious quiz, which was won by a table of experts.

The wine of the evening was Wither Hills Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and the keenest wine tasters were at Waitrose at 8:15 the next morning, followed by a number of others. Together with a raffle, having a top prize of a £100 voucher for the Pink Geranium, the net proceeds from the event contributed over £400 to the Friends and provided a very jolly evening for all those who attended.
