The Hot Club of Cambridge gave a splendid concert to a church full with over 90 jazz enthusiasts. Their music in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli and their Quintette du Hot Club de France gave a true flavour of the jazz scene in Paris in the mid 1930s. The ability of the instrumentalists was superb, in particular the lead guitarist Colin Borrill and the violinist Iain Mann, who played the jazz classics with such dexterity, particularly when they were improvising. This evening was kindly sponsored by South Cambs Motors, to whom we are grateful for initiating a very successful fund-raising event.
