Following an unfulfilled interest in Africa many years ago when living in Luxembourg, Pierrette Borgonon took part in an AidCamps International visit to work with a school in Cameroon in 2004. Her talk and slides showed the poverty and lack of infrastructure. Despite this the people - children in particular - were most welcoming and showed this through their dance and music. Pierrette has also been on a similar visit to an Indian school, while Graham was persuaded to join a subsequent visit to Cameroon where he helped develop a web site for SHUMAS (Strategic Humanitarian Services). Both of these working visits were illustrated with slides.
The plight of many of the people and their situation rather puts the current global crisis into perspective and we are grateful to Pierrette and Graham for sharing their voluntary work experiences with us.
