Peter Chapman and Mike O'Neill presented a nostalgic evening of comic songs and monologues performed by Flanders and Swann between 1956 and 1867, which encouraged audience participation. In addition there were songs by their contemporaries.
Peter and Mike started with "The Gas Man Cometh" and included the "Gnu Song", "Hippopotamus Song", "Madeira M'Dear" and an excellent "Albert and the Lion".
With a slight dig at the congregation, they performed Richard Stilgoe's "Mrs Beamish" ("Don't you dare shake hands with me, or offer signs of peace"), Tom Lehrer's Boy Scout song, "Be Prepared" and Allan Sherman's "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah". A nostalgic evening, finishing with a social.
